  • Hello & welcome to daphne’s blog

I found that I had too many beautiful images to share with people and my website didn't have enough space, so I've entered the world of blogging! I'm a photographer in the metro-Detroit area specializing in weddings, newborns, families, children, and event photography.

I love what I do and being able to capture timeless moments of emotion and love that will bring joy to people for years and years. I'm so very lucky to have the job I do. I received my BFA in photography from the University of Michigan in 2000 and I've been shooting ever since. Simply put - I love love. I can't make up my mind as to which type of session I prefer so I like to do them all. Weddings are so amazing to shoot because of all the love and the powerful joyful emotions overflowing from the day - it's a dream to photograph. I'm also the mother of a 7 year old, Adler, who loves to ham it up in front of the camera and my little guy, Leopold, who is 1 and 1/2 and has way too many photos taken already, I can't keep up with all the ones I take. I understand how children operate and how patience and a kind attitude is essential during a shoot, ok and maybe a little bit of bribing.

Enjoy my blog and find me on Facebook too.

Madhavi & Daniel

There’s nothing more flattering than shooting a wedding and then having a family member call up later and ask you to shoot their wedding.  I met Madhavi’s family and Daniel when they were dating at her sister’s wedding – Malika married Shahram (they are on my website as one of the sample galleries) in a beautiful December ceremony.  These weddings are the ones where I just feel so incredibly lucky to do what I do.  I love this family and Daniel’s family was just as sweet and kind to me too – Grandpa Beyer was a trip.

The wedding day began at beautiful Meadowbrook Hall with an absolutely gorgeous day and magical setting.   They had the traditional Indian ceremony which was full of smiles and colors.  A luncheon followed and then the Catholic ceremony took place at St. Joesph’s Parish in Lake Orion followed by a beautiful reception at Oakhurst Country Club in Clarkston.  It was a 14 hour day but I didn’t even notice – this family means the world to me and Daniel & Madhu, I wish you all the best!  I can’t wait for you to see ALL the images from the big day.  It was impossible to narrow it down so be prepared…

Neil & Christine

What a beautiful wedding for the newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Sroka!  Christine and Neil had a gorgeous ceremony in Grosse Pointe Farms at St. Paul’s on the Lake and the day couldn’t have been more perfect, it was Michigan weather at its best.  The celebrations continued at the historic Detroit Athletic Club with heartfelt speeches and lots and lots of fantastic dancing.  Congratulations guys!!

What a great wedding! I was so glad Mom and I made the trip to celebrate! Christine looked GORGEOUS and these pictures showcase that! Love 🙂

Kim & Dan

I had such an amazing day photographing Kim & Dan’s wedding and getting to know their friends and family!  The two newlyweds were so laid-back and so incredibly kind, the love was definitely all around these lovebirds.  I also couldn’t help but include the photo with two of them at their table with Dan’s fist in the air – maybe it’s because I grew up in the 80’s but does this not remind you of the end of a certain amazing movie?!  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Smith!!

Katherine & Paul

What a beautiful wedding day overflowing with love around Katherine & Paul!  I adored the fact Katherine had both her father and her son, Caden, walk her down the aisle and I had to include the looks she shared with both of them on the walk to Paul.  The ceremony was made even more special as it was presided by Paul’s father.  The endearing moments continued after the ceremony with wonderful speeches and of course, the dances.  I wish all the happiness to the new Bode family!

Beth & Jerry

Beth and Jerry have such a wonderful story and it was so touching to hear and be the one to document this beautiful day for them.  The two of them dated in high school and went to Prom together (yes, that’s a photo of them at Prom!) and then went their separate ways after high school.  30 years later, they reconnected by exchanging letters which I find so romantic in this digital age.  They had a beautiful winter wedding at Planterra but the flowers and greens made us forget yet another snow storm taking place outside.  I wish you all the best Beth & Jerry!
