  • Hello & welcome to daphne’s blog

I found that I had too many beautiful images to share with people and my website didn't have enough space, so I've entered the world of blogging! I'm a photographer in the metro-Detroit area specializing in weddings, newborns, families, children, and event photography.

I love what I do and being able to capture timeless moments of emotion and love that will bring joy to people for years and years. I'm so very lucky to have the job I do. I received my BFA in photography from the University of Michigan in 2000 and I've been shooting ever since. Simply put - I love love. I can't make up my mind as to which type of session I prefer so I like to do them all. Weddings are so amazing to shoot because of all the love and the powerful joyful emotions overflowing from the day - it's a dream to photograph. I'm also the mother of a 7 year old, Adler, who loves to ham it up in front of the camera and my little guy, Leopold, who is 1 and 1/2 and has way too many photos taken already, I can't keep up with all the ones I take. I understand how children operate and how patience and a kind attitude is essential during a shoot, ok and maybe a little bit of bribing.

Enjoy my blog and find me on Facebook too.

Katie & Matthew

Katie & Matthew had a fabulous October wedding at Planterra Conservatory and it was a wonderful wedding to witness and document for these two lovebirds.  They were both so laid back and so loving, it was a heart warming event.  Matthew’s sister officiated the lovely event and her husband did a wonderful knot tying tradition at the end of the ceremony which was a first for me.   I also have to applaud her for stepping to the side during their first kiss…I mean how incredible is the photo of their first kiss as husband and wife with just the two of them in the photo and that beautiful backdrop.  Love it.  The party was a giant success too and so much fun!  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Lyons!K&Mblog_01K&Mblog_02K&Mblog_03K&Mblog_04K&Mblog_05K&Mblog_06K&Mblog_07K&Mblog_08K&Mblog_09K&Mblog_10K&Mblog_11K&Mblog_12K&Mblog_13K&Mblog_14K&Mblog_15K&Mblog_16

Lisa & Eric

Eric & Lisa’s wedding day in Detroit at Waterview Lofts  was absolutely perfect – beautiful day and these two surely deserved it.  You know you have an awesome couple when they just roll with whatever may happen.  We were wandering Detroit and a gust of wind blew Lisa’s veil into a burr bush and about 50 burrs got tangled up in and made quite a mess and she didn’t even blink an eye, said no big deal.  Can’t you just tell from some of these photos how much fun and love there is between them? Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Hosko!

Hi Daphne!!
It’s Bre, from The Wedding Shoppe!!

Josie & Jon

I had the privilege of photographing my friends Josie & Jon’s wedding last month and we had an amazing day despite all the rain and cold on June 27th.  No one ever hopes for rain on their wedding day, but I do truly love umbrella shots – I find them incredibly romantic.  We started the day off at Arid Blow Dry Bar in Birmingham, moved to Jon’s parent’s house for the ceremony in West Bloomfield and then a beautiful reception in Royal Oak at the Farmer’s Market.  There was champagne and love flowing all day!  I have to admit when Josie’s dad got choked up walking her down the aisle, I was shooting through my own tears.  I’ve known Josie since her beginning days of high school and I’m just so happy for these two – they are truly a beautiful couple inside and out who compliment each other perfectly.  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Casalou!!  xoxo, daphne
